Craft Beer & Brewing

59–16 minutes remaining

After you've added the 60-minute hops addition, you'll spend most of your time monitoring your wort to make sure it doesn't boil over and adding hops at the specified intervals. Don't stray too far from your boil kettle. You're most likely to have a boil over near the beginning, but disaster could strike at any time. Once you've done this a few times, you'll gain a sense of when you can walk away and for how long. Your next major tasks happen 15 minutes before the end of the boil.

Keep an eye on the boil and periodically check your timer. This is also a great time to have a beer!
