Craft Beer & Brewing

Packaging

Finally, the finished beer is packaged in bottles or kegs. Homebrewers who bottle add a small amount of sugar to the finished beer just before packaging. The small amount of yeast remaining in the beer after bottling consumes this sugar and produces carbon dioxide, naturally carbonating the beer in the process.

Some homebrewers keg their beer instead of bottling. Brewers interested in learning to keg can learn to do so in Craft Beer & Brewing's Introduction to Kegging online course.
