What it is: Established in 2007 in the bustling Colaba neighborhood, this charming gastropub has played a pioneering role in Mumbai’s beer scene. Woodside offers a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere for great beer, great food, or both. House beers come from the nearby Rolling Mills and include their signature hazy IPA, Heady Freddie, seasonal beers such as a refreshing Mango-Pineapple Ale in summer, and a constant stream of surprises.

Why it’s great: What sets Woodside apart is its deep connection to Mumbai’s local brewing scene. They proudly pour beers from some of the city’s finest, including Gateway, Bombay Duck, Rolling Mills, and Doolally, so there’s always something new and interesting on tap. For locals who hanker for a Western pub experience or expats who hanker for a taste of home, the menu ranges from double tenderloin cheeseburgers to crispy thin-crust pizzas and bangers & mash. Woodside’s annual Craft Beer & Burger Festival is a highlight on the calendar, featuring expertly chosen burger-beer pairings conceived in collaboration with breweries across India. With all that plus the inviting charm of its exposed brick walls and wooden accents, you’ve got the perfect place to unwind in the heart of Mumbai—or, if you’re farther afield, there are now two more locations in the city, in Andheri and Bandra.
