What Our Editors Thought
A strangely slight nose takes subtlety to the extreme—some coffee is there, but you’ll have to go looking for it. The flavor, however, brings rich and only slightly sweet coffee roast notes to the fore.
What Our Panel Thought
Coffee and dark chocolate on the nose. Massive dark malt—chewy, rich chocolate and coffee, with an ag-gressively bitter finish to cut the sweetness. The boozy character is a nice punch to remind you to drink this slowly and savor it as it warms. Huge, aggressive, complex, and satisfying.
What the Brewers Say
Bold, strong, and dark, Caffè Americano is made by adding vanilla and Tampa-roasted espresso beans to a double stout base.
