What Our Editors Thought
Hay and cocoa on the nose, with an almost dusty dryness. It’s just a touch watery on the sip, as the darker caramel and chocolate malt notes recede rather than make a grand statement. The balance is right, but the mix could use a boost.
What Our Panel Thought
Classic nose of roast malt, coffee, hints of bakers chocolate. Flavor pairs fruity-coffee roast and bread-like malt with a spicy hop partner; hints of mint, rye, bitter chocolate. Body seems a bit thin. Malt character lingers with subtle roast and residual sweetness.
What the Brewers Say
Collaboration with Bierstadt Lagerhaus. The perfect beer to sip around the campfire on a cool Texas (or Colorado) evening.
