What Our Editors Thought
A whiff of campfire and charred oak subtly weave through the nose, while the sip shocks with the sharp bite of bitter hops and tannic malt before quickly fading.
What Our Panel Thought
Hints of smoke mingle with the roast-malt aroma along with hops notes of pine and earthy dankness. The smoke character carries through and increases slightly in the flavor. Coupled with a bit of pine hops bitterness and slight minerality, it creates the impression of thinness. Finishes dry and mildly bitter, but not harsh.
What the Brewers Say
One of our original recipes. A classic American-style stout: dry and robust with enough dry hopping to be crisp, but not hoppy.
