What Our Editors Thought
Red-wine nose with light berry, currant, and significant herbal spice. The sip leads with a burst of sweetness; a curious anise note helps keep it in check. It’s bold, rich, layered, and thoughtful. Surprisingly drinkable, quickly drying in the finish.
What Our Panel Thought
Beautiful violet color with tiny lilac bubbles around the edge. Jammy blueberry aroma with mild, complementary basil; notes of fenugreek, anise. Strong blueberry flavor with an artificial-sweetener tang; dark Thai basil note. Light tartness, moderate tannins. Complex. High drinkability.
What the Brewers Say
Boon ends up as a slightly sweet, slightly tart, complex gluten-free gift.
