is a Wisconsin-based manufacturing corporation that produces a wide spectrum of equipment for breweries and bars. It has three divisions: bar and beverage equipment, tapping, and brewery fittings. Its fabricated items range from refrigerated cabinets and glass-washing equipment to liquor display cabinets and specialty stainless-steel sinks. The Perlick catalog features a lengthy list of beer faucets, keg couplers, party pumps, and dispensing heads. It offers fittings that are compatible with other manufacturer’s products and for virtually every part of the brewing process. The comprehensive nature of the Perlick product line has made it a household name in the North American brewing industry. The company was founded under the name R. Perlick Brass Works by Robert Perlick and his son, Walter, on the second floor of a building in downtown Milwaukee in 1917, with an initial focus on brass items for the automotive industry. After the repeal of Prohibition, however, the elder Perlick saw opportunities in the brewing industry, and soon Perlick was selected as the exclusive supplier for A. O. Smith glass-lined beer tanks. See prohibition. Perlick also started to manufacture fittings for refrigeration equipment and later launched its own refrigeration division. Perlick now operates an almost 28,000 square meter (roughly 300,000 square foot) production facility as well as representatives in all American states and Canadian provinces.
