Altitude founder Eliott Menzies says their “mountain IPAs” are still juicy and aromatic, but they’re drier than other hazy IPAs and feature a balancing bitterness.

Like its predecessor Homeward Bound—which won a gold medal in the Juicy/Hazy category at the 2023 New Zealand Beer Awards—this recipe relies entirely on New Zealand hops, especially Riwaka and Nelson. It also gets a voluminous Motueka addition as a dip-hop step, which runs parallel to the whirlpool and promotes biotransformation.
