What Our Editors Thought
The curt, bready nose doesn’t show its cards, but the flavor opens up in the sip with chocolate-covered peanuts and a defined but rounded chocolate bitterness. Not quite as dry as some others, but that works in its favor.
What Our Panel Thought
An inviting blend of roasted and chocolate malt with floral and minty hops creates a complex and interesting nose of chocolate, light coffee, and treacle and flavor sporting traces of raisin, pumpernickel, and toast. Some pleasant perfume-like hop bitterness balances things out. Finishes clean and crisp for an easy-drinking, medium-bodied beer.
What the Brewers Say
Continental dark lager with a rich mouthfeel and flavors of biscuit and chocolate-covered raisins.
