What Our Panel Thought
Aroma: “Coffee dominates with coconut, wood, vanilla, and a light oaky aroma.”
Flavor: “Sweet coconut and bitter coffee play off each other. Vanilla, caramel, and toffee oak characteristics. Slight cinnamon with mild alcohol laced with clean and light malt notes.”
Overall: “A cream ale? Really?! Despite the initial shock of the ‘style,’ this beer works! The coffee and coconut play off each other and are complemented by the oak-derived vanilla and caramel. Albeit boozy, this is an enjoyable and unique beer.”
What the Brewers Say
“Our golden imperial coffee cream ale has been finished on Brinley Shipwreck wood and coconut. Much as Regular Coffee evokes an amusing version of the acidic bitter coffee curbed by milk and sugar that starts a day in a paper cup, St Kitts Coffee addresses it in a Caribbean rendition of a mug of sweet, coconut rum–touched coffee, lazily sipped in a languid breeze.”
