What Our Editors Thought
“Earthy hop nose leads with forest and rustic bread. Body veers austere, with layered malt and dark-chocolate bitterness. Finishes quickly without some of the pleasant malt notes.”
What Our Panel Thought
“In the nose, light malt swaddled in inviting floral hops. Leans hoppy in flavor and bitterness; finishes with a light lingering burnt note. Roast malt melds well with bitterness, but closer to a ‘black pale ale.’ Nice underlying malt depth, but you have to search.”
What the Brewers Say
“It features a deep complexity from the decoction process and a hop schedule typical of Bohemian beers.”
