What Our Editors Thought
A young bourbon oak nose is surprisingly light on the chocolate and roast. The flavor is similarly weightless with more caramel macchiato than mocha. A bit subdued for a barrel-aged stout, but surprisingly drinkable.
What Our Panel Thought
Cholate cake, caramel, light hazelnut spice in the nose. Booze bite could use some backup, but there is a pleasant bitter chocolate caramel, toasted coconut, cinnamon taste as it warms.
What the Brewers Say
Brewed with specialty grains and molasses, then barrel-aged for 12 months to produce subtle sweet vanilla and oak-forward flavors.
