What Our Editors Thought
"A friendly throwback, reassuring and familiar, with sharp black malt on the nose. Layers of sharp, sweet, rich, and boozy. Breadth of flavor makes up for a generally thin body."
What Our Panel Thought
"Roast and bourbon across the nose, with plums, dates, vanilla, and a chocolate/cherry-pie undercurrent. Roast malt adds backbone to the flavor, with restrained sweetness. Falls on the roastier side, dry, astringent. Invites another sip. Could handle, perhaps, a little more alcohol warmth."
What the Brewers Say
"Aromas of molasses and vanilla mix with flavors of dark chocolate, espresso beans, and roasted barley."
