What Our Editors Thought
"Butterscotch nose with touches of caramel and roast. The sip is less sweet than expected—a touch light and watery—with coconut flavor more like heightened barrel than adjunct ingredient. Almost dark-barleywine character."
What Our Panel Thought
"Nose of vanilla, burnt sugar, coffee, boozy rum, low coconut. Barrel melds with beer and coffee elements. Roast flavor, syrupy, with alcohol and woody notes. Coconut emerges mid-palate, lingering with toasted sweetness. Dry finish and slight body."
What the Brewers Say
"Imperial coffee stout aged in rum barrels finished with toasted coconut."
