What Our Panel Thought

Aroma: “Toasty, caramel, biscuity malt sweetness. Some nuttiness. Slightly woody with an earthy hop aroma. Pleasant malt notes, some cloves, some pepper, subtle bananas.”

Flavor: “Rich malt complexity. Earthy, toasty, and sweet. A bit of dark fruit. Graham-cracker–malt character with golden raisins and a bit of cherry. Nailed the malt, hops are right in line, and yeast is true to style but slightly one-note. Nice dry finish with good carbonation. Crisp finish.”

Overall: “Really liked it. A great, complex bière de garde. Good malt-focused farmhouse ale with subtle yeast-derived spices and some esters.”

What the Brewers Say

Four different types of malt create a toffee sweetness, while French Strisselspalt hops add a subtle spice flavor. The beer is fermented with a distinct French farmhouse ale strain, then bottle conditioned with extra sugar and yeast for at least two weeks.
