What Our Editors Thought
Rich berry and cherry, low key with echoes of spicy currant. Bold and intense. The flavor echoes the aroma with voluminous tart berry and a backing beer that cautiously avoids overstepping the fruit’s tartness. Slight funky notes with a touch of tannic edge reinforce the beer element, but the fruit is the star of the show.
What Our Panel Thought
On the nose, ripe, figgy raspberry preserves, seeds and all. Raisin notes, sweet red grape, like mincemeat-pie filling. Pleasant, cranberry-like sourness. A craisin-like sweetness helps keep balance and interest. Juicy, with a caramelized dark-fruit stripe that adds depth. Finish is fizzy and Champagne-like. Fun beer.
What the Brewers Say
The ultimate sour experience of black raspberry, sour cherry, and funk!
