From The Oxford Companion to Beer
is a UK outgrowth of the blogosphere, said to be a variant of beer ticking. See ticking. Beer scoopers not only seek out beers that are new to them but also attempt to record impressions and opinions of the beers, rather than simply “ticking them off” (checking them off) a list. No doubt this is a hobby that will be given new life by the rise of social media such as Twitter.See also social media.
