What Our Editors Thought
A crisp floral and pepper edge on the nose offers a telltale Brett signature, and that peppery phenol dominates the flavor with a ranging but oddly pillowy spiciness. Dry and minimal.
What Our Panel Thought
Bright gold with sticky lace. Soft, funky aroma with touches of bright stone fruit, grass, and lemon curd. Clove-and-pepper phenolics bloom in the flavor with low stone fruit and moderate, lingering herbal bitterness. Dry and austere. Yeast-driven, with complementary hopping.
What the Brewers Say
Using our standard Saison Robert as the base beer, we bottle-condition Jannemie with a mild strain of Brett.
