What Our Panel Thought
Aroma: “Smells like spiced mulled rum! Moderate fall spices (pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, vanilla) with moderate alcohol. Malt brings some nice caramel richness.”
Flavor: “Some dark toasty and slightly roasted malt with maybe a touch of caramel. Moderate sweetness, dark fruitiness of plum and raisins, spiciness with cinnamon. Medium sherry, oxidized flavors. Medium alcohol warming.”
Overall: “Very sweet with big raisin, plum, and dark fruitiness. Lots of spice and a touch roasty. A bit dry. Spices linger pleasantly in the aftertaste. Winter warmer, holiday beer.”
What the Brewers Say
“Complex dark ale brewed with chocolate, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and Mexican chile pepper.”
