What Our Editors Thought
A subtle and oaky nose with a touch of caramel and burnt sugar segues into a full sip with black licorice un-dertones and strong roast braced by a significant sweetness that rounds off the would-be sharpness. Compel-ling and rich.
What Our Panel Thought
Cherry and bourbon nose with a backing of roasted barley. One of the more unique flavor profiles in this style. Bright and assertive balance of sweetness and roast with complex flavors of cherry, dark fruits, choco-late, bitter coffee, light bourbon, and anise.
What the Brewers Say
Dark, bitter chocolate, raw cacao, heavy oak, and no adjuncts.
