What students say
Great Course
Short videos with lots of information. It helps to take notes and make step by step guides for yourself. The course definitely made me want to experiment with yeast more, and gave me some confidence to actually do it.
A fountain of knowledge
Tony makes some complicated tips and tricks with yeast understandable - an indispensable follow-up to the introductory yeast course.
Interesting & Informative Video Course
Tony Rau did an excellent job covering the basics of advanced yeast management. His knowledge really showed through in this course. Text material provided in the course was helpful too.

Very helpful
Helped me learn how to better use my yeast, how to keep it stored and healthy. Understood better its impact on flavour and a little of how to manipulate this. Worth the time, thanks!
Very informative
Excellent information
Comprehensive
A very thorough discussion for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge of yeast management.
Yeast college
Really in depth for homebrew
*****
Spot on!
Very informative!! Loved it!
Very informational
I would like to get into culturing after this video. Only part I didnt like was that he didnt wait for the slurry to settle which could throw people off if they dont know what they are looking at.
Great intermediate level yeast course
Really good introduction to using slats and growing cultures. Makes me want to give it a shot. I would have liked more details on the effects of specific minerals and enzymes.
Instructor has vast knowledge on subject
Not much detail went into the demonstrations. Additionally, this is more for homebrewer tricks/tips and not so much for nano/micro breweries. Still got plenty of information regarding yeast, but I am still left questioning how to perform on a larger than 5gal scale.
Very Knowledgeable
Tony is an extremely knowledgeable presenter and was concise is his presenting. I was personally looking for validation on my understanding of reculturing from a brew’s trub and found it did the job
Advanced Yeast Management
Good overall knowledge of yeast washing and culturing was gained during this course allowing confidence to grow!
Very Informative
The instructor did a thorough job of explaining and applying to a home brew set up.
Advanced Yeast Management
Great overview of yeast, however this could be better on demos
While that was titled Advanced, the presentation on examples of handling the yeast were novice. If this is going to be titled Advanced Yeast management, show me how you actually save the yeast cake from a real 5 gallon batch, not poorly done mock demos in the lab that don't cover the actual process. While the general gist is ok, you could actually do what you do and time lapse the video showing how the mixed wort and yeast settles during decanting and how you then have the upper layer you want to remove, then show you pouring that off and not an unsettled example. Content was great, demos were terrible for an Advanced titled course.
Another great course
Excellent
