3 Floyds will be hosting Dark Lord Day on the brewery grounds. The brewpub will be closed that day, but you will still be able to purchase other 3 Floyds beer at the event. Tickets go on sale online March 17 at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. The cost of tickets is $30. You will be allowed to purchase two tickets. However, Dark Lord allocations will be per person not per ticket. Make sure you have a valid driver's license, state ID, or passport that matches the name on the ticket, or you will not be able to enter.

Once you are in line and inside the brewery you will hand over the event ticket that you purchased online. At that time you will receive your "Golden" scratch-off ticket. The scratch off lets you know whether you will have the opportunity to purchase a Barrel-Aged Dark Lord Variant. Way better than a chocolate factory, right?

For those unfamiliar with 3 Floyds' Dark Lord, here's the description from the web site:

"Dark Lord is a gargantuan Russian Style Imperial Stout, with a reverse cascading head that starts out billowing the color of burnt oil like the Dark Lord rising from the black primordial beginnings. Its resonant vinous aroma has been described as cherries, sweet malt, molasses, burnt currants, plums with a port wine alcohol undertow. Mochachino notes buried within. Motor oil consistency, hellishly smooth yet divinely burnt and vinous. The first sip coats your palate with a palatial charred fruit and chocolate blanket. Alcohol burn wiggles its way down your throat with a thick body."
